NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) — The Women’s World Cup ticker-tape parade is over, but the celebrations continue.
Members of the US Women’s National Team are being honored in front of a crowd of 3,500 people at City Hall Plaza.
Mayor Bill de Blasio gave each member of the team keys to the city.
Mayor de Blasio: “You had the strength, you had the grit, you had the speed to make it to the championship. You had the determination, the team work, the heart to become champions and examples to us all.”
South Jersey native and World Cup MVP Carli Lloyd spoke to an adoring crowd.
